Worship PersonnelIf you would like to participate in these activities or find out more, contact the parish office office@stchrisophers-mn.org Acolytes St. Christophers has an acolyte corps that ranges in age from 10 to 60+. Acolytes are an integral part of every service and add to the beauty of our liturgy. Training moves the acolyte from the first steps of torch bearing through crucifering and serving the priest during communionAltar Guild is a ministry, which serves all worship services, baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals and memorial services. They are responsible for the care of altar linens and the decoration of the church and altar for all liturgical seasons. The Altar Guild of Trinity Church prepares the church for worship under the direction of the clergy. It also is responsible for providing suitable furnishings and decorations for the altar and taking due care of them. To this end, each week a group of dedicated members cleans brass, silver and linen, sets the altar for Sunday services and maintains other furnishings as needed. In addition to their presence at all worship services, the members of the Altar Guild also prepare the church for special music performances, funerals and weddings. A committee of the Guild also serves as consultants to work with the clergy and those being married at St. Christopher's to ensure that all is well on that special day. The Altar Guild is open to new members and extensive training and support ar provided. Bell Choir offers ministry the second Sunday of the month and at special events. Parish Choir enhances the 9 am Sunday liturgy and rehearses Wednesday. Vocal training and music education is provided. Interested people of all ages are welcome to inquire and participate. Instrumentalists enrich our worship by offering their skills and talents to enhance the beauty of worship. Intercessors offer the Prayers of the People during Sunday services. In addition, they are committed to prayer during the week Lay Eucharistic Ministers serve by administering the chalice during Sunday church services. In addition, these persons are committed to a variety of food ministries. Lay Eucharistic Visitors serve the community by taking the sacrament on Sunday mornings to those in hospitals or to those who are unable to attend on Sunday. In addition, they make a commitment to be involved in a food ministry. Readers study the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures during the week so the lessons they read at the Sunday services help us make sense of God’s Word to us today. Ushers welcome individuals as they prayerfully enter the church and ensure that people are comfortable and have the materials necessary to the service. They are knowledgeable about the building and guide newcomers and guests to restrooms, coat racks, activities and fellowship. Ushers also assist in the presentation of the gifts and direct people forward for communion. |
