Lectionary Link: https://www.lectionarypage.net/WeekdaysOfLent/TuesdayFirstWeek.html Contributor: Julie Shiek I can’t help but think of my childhood when Lent starts. First thing that comes to mind is what am I giving up this year for Lent. I remember one Lent during my working days some of my co-workers and I shared what we were planning to give up. One of my co-workers shared he always gives up candy. Well one day I noticed he was enjoying a little candy bar as he was eating his lunch. I couldn’t help it, I had to call him on it. He said he was eating the candy bar as his dessert, so in this case the candy bar wasn’t considered candy but dessert. I always thought that the practice of giving up something was to challenge oneself. I wasn’t sure what kind of challenge he was making. This year I am renewing my attempt to challenge myself this Lenten season. Comments are closed.
