Verses 19 and 20 of Psalm 106 refer to the calf-image fabricated by the people of Israel at Mt Sinai. When God told Moses that He was thinking about destroying His people for this and other defiance and disobedience, Moses argued with God and prevailed. On Easter we celebrate our own Mediator and Advocate, who for our disobedience made “a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction, for the sins of the whole world”.
